Mets stand against childhood cancer.

Shop and Stop and giant food have joined the mets, boston red sox, and baltimore orioles to "strike out" childhood cancer. They plan to raise $5.25 million. This is not a new charity as it has been existance for 17 years. The program is named the "triple winner program" and since its start in 17 years ago has raised $38 million to support research of childhood cancer. The Triple Winner Game is a baseball themed scratch ticket that offers free products, gift cards, and even $10,ooo cash prizes.

"The Orioles are proud to team up with Giant's Triple Winner program and provide our fans with the opportunity to demonstrate their support to help eradicate this terrible disease," said Greg Bader, Orioles Director of Communications.

Mets Honor Jackie Robinson Friday

The New York Mets were supposed to honor the great African American baseball player on Sunday but the game got rained out due to a nasty storm. Instead the Mets plan to host a ceremony on Friday at Shea stadium. Robinson is best known for breaking baseball's color barrier and opening up Major League Baseball to talented African american athletes. The Mets will be playing the Braves after the ceremony takes place.

Sundays Mets Game Postponed

The game that was supposed to take place tonight has gotten postponed due to rain. Fans should keep their Mets Tickets safe as they will can probably be used for the rescheduled date.

Pitcher Juan Padilla Will Go Into Surgery

Today the Mets right-handed Juan Padilla will need to go into surgery for his right elbow. He has a torn flexor tendon. The surgery will take place at Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan. No other information has been released as of yet but I'll keep all of you up to date.

Get your taxes done at Shea Stadium!

Alright this is kind of weird but I'll tell you about it anyways. New York Mets fans can bring their shoebox of tax information to Shea Stadium and get their taxes prepared at no cost. Gilman Ciocia, Inc is offering mets fans free tax preparation from April 11 to the 15th at Shea Stadium. This will occur during the following games,

• Wednesday, April 11 vs. Philadelphia 7:10 p.m.
•Thursday, April 12 vs. Philadelphia 7:10 p.m.
•Friday, April 13 vs. Washington 7:10 p.m.
•Saturday, April 14 vs. Washington 1:10 p.m.
•Sunday, April 15 vs. Washington 1:10 p.m.

You must hold a New York Mets tickets to one of these games to be eligible however.
